Hi, there!
Well, here I am full of excitement as I embark on this new journey. It’s Nov. 12, 2013, 6:48 pm as I begin to write this very first post! I make a note of it now because my hope is that one day I can look back fondly on this moment in time as the start of something magical that changed my life and, hopefully, enriched yours too.
My aim here is simple: to capture the magic that we hear in the sounds of 70’s & 80’s music and recreate it in new songs and fresh covers of some of our favorite Retro & Classic Rock tunes. And when I say “our favorites”, I really mean it because that’s my goal – to create covers that you want me to cover. So, to that end, I’ll be adding in a poll widget here on the site that allows you to vote on a list of songs. Each month, I’ll take a song or two with the most votes, flesh out what I think would make a fresh cover of ’em, and go into the recording studio and cut ’em! So I guess you could think of this concept as “recording-on-demand” where you get to choose what you want the artist to record. 🙂
I’ll be chronicling my development as an artist with a post here and there about that, as well as posting album reviews and sharing news of events I think you might find of interest. If you’re like me, you’re probably also a fan of retro pop culture in general so I’ll also be sharing things I stumble across in that regard which I think you’ll like.
Oh yeah – I’ll also be running some fun contests where you can win some cool stuff so stay tuned for those as well!
